Lace up your Boots, we’re hiking up the East Ridge

You can climb up Mount Sentinal to the “M” in Missoula.  You can climb  Mount Helena in, you guessed it, Helena, Montana.  You can climb the “Superior Vista Trail” in Superior, Montana.   So why not walk to the “Our Lady of the Rockies” statue on the top of the East Ridge in Butte, Montana?  Before you go, make sure you are not trespassing. Years have passed since we walked up the mountain. There is a chance the trail my not be open to the public.  Not to worry, the gallery below features some of the views you will see, as you make your way up to the “Our Lady of the Rockies” statue.

“Our Lady of the Rockies,” is a 90-foot statue placed on the East Ridge overlooking Butte, visitors can see Montana peaks and valleys as far as 100 miles. Our Lady, built entirely by volunteers and maintained by a non-profit organization, was begun in 1979 and completed in 1985.  During the months of June through October you can ride in a tour van to the top.  Here is their website  http://www.ourladyoftherockies.net
