| The Great Northern Railroad built a spur line from Kalispell to the sawmill in Somers, Montana in 1900. |
| At one point, the Somers Lumber Company owned the townsite, 122 houses, a company store, the water and electric |
| utilities and the O'Brian mansion. In 1948, the Great Northern sold the sawmill and townsite to a Seattle salvage dealer. |
