80406 August
is County Fair time in Montana. We came to Sidney to see one of the
best little fairs in Montana, |
|
"The
Richland County Fair and Rodeo" held the first week of August.
Before we visit the fair, |
|
|
let's
walk down Sidney's Central Avenue and take a look around. |

80406 Walking
down Sidney's S. Central Ave. we pass Central Park. There's a statue
of former Montana Governor Donald G. Nutter. |
|
Governor
Nutter, who was from Sidney, served as governor from 1960-1962. |
|
He was a
WWII veteran, a former state senator and former state chairman of the
Montana Republican Party. |
|
|
Governor
Nutter, his chief of staff, the agriculture commissioner and three Air
National Guardsmen were killed in a plane crash in |
|
Wolf Creek Canyon on January
1962.

steam locomotive in Sidney's Central Park reminds us that this is sugar beet country. |

The
