Welcome to the Richey, Montana Picture Tour

Ride east of Circle on Highway 200 to the town of Richey, Montana. The community is tiny but the inventory of beautiful old historic buildings in the surrounding area is huge. The eastern Montana town is surrounded by a modern agriculture economy but scattered among the wheat fields and ranches are pockets of well preserved Homestead history.

Pressed for time and can’t ride around Dawson county looking for old Homestead buildings?  You are in luck, the Richey Historical Museum has done a great job preserving buildings and articles from the early homestead days.  The museum complex has six buildings and over 7,000 articles of historical interest that is well worth the visit.

If you are from the Richey, Axtell, Sullivan or Paxton area we bet you will enjoy the recently released book called the “The Long Road Home.”  Carefully complied by the Richey Historical Society, the wonderful book contains about one thousand pages of photos and covers 100 years of local history.
