11507 We
reached the mid-point of the mountain. |
|
Quick, the sun is just about behind the
mountain. It's time to play: "Where's Waldo the Elk." There are
four bulls in the picture can you find them before it gets dark? |

|
Can't see 'em? Good, neither
did we. We stopped to take a photograph and stumbled into the bulls a
couple seconds after taking this shot. |

Of
course, during hunting season the bulls wouldn't be having the "tea party" we
see below. |
|
Hopefully, this example will keep you off the high ridges next season. |
| |
|
|
We
continued to get closer to the bulls without "spooking" them. |
|
When we
were in perfect picture range the sun dropped behind the mountain and the
digital camera battery died. |
|
Instead
of replacing the battery, we decided to "call it a day" and packed up our
camera gear. |
| |
|
|
We walked
a hundred yards to the left of this photo when a single bull spotted us and
did an immediate "180" into the trees. |
|
It was
the dominant bull - he made the other four bulls look small. No fooling. |
