Next to the Higgins Avenue Bridge we spotted three trout "beached" on
the river bank. |
|
Let's get closer for a better
look... (Click on any of the pictures to

We thought so... |
|
Every
Spring the Clark Fork River spills over it's banks leaving thousands of
trout |
|
"beached" on the shore once the
water recedes. If you have the time, help push
|
|
the
stranded trout back into the river. Let's get even closer to see
what kind of trout they are. |

Oh, that's a "Brown Trout." :o) |
|
That's
enough of fooling around. We'll leave the trout sculpture and climb
the stairs to Higgins Avenue. |

Next time, we'll walk under the Higgins Avenue bridge to see the
Missoula
Carousel and
Caras Park. |
|
There's the
Wilma Theater,
a Missoula landmark since 1921. Speaking of landmarks, |
|
we'll walk north
towards the six story white and tan "Art Moderne" building known as
the
"Florence Hotel." |

We made it! There's the
"Florence Hotel" on the left. The new "Macy's" was once known as
the old Missoula Mercantile. |
|
|
For an explosion of color and
variety, continue up Higgins Avenue to the old Great Northern Train depot
and visit the Saturday "Farmers Market." |
|
|
That's another tour... For now
we'll return to the Clark Fork River and soak up the last of the warm summer
like sunshine. |
