60107  We don't want to neglect the the mountains on the east side of the Bitterroot valley, the Sapphire Mountains.

They look their very best when the full moon breaks over the top of the mountains.  The moon is really a pretty sight as you finish a hike in the Bitterroot Mountains.

Let's explore the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge just north of Stevensville.

60107  The "refuge" is a great place to visit any time of the year.  The best part about the "refuge," is you

don't have to stand in line to get in, like this herd of privately owned buffalo.  The Bison don't seem to mind the long line, they packed a "lunch".

60107  There's the  Whaley Homestead near the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge entrance.
