Welcome to the Kerr Dam Picture Tour

If you are in the Polson area in June through early July, pay a visit to Kerr Dam on along Lower Flathead River. After taking in the spectacular views, you can drive down to the boat launch on the lower river (See video at 1:35). Kerr Dam is named after Frank Kerr, who was the president of the Montana Power Company in 1930 when they began construction. The dam in now operated by PPL Montana and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. The information signs at the overlook talk about native food sources from Camas and Bitterroot plants. Included in the tour are pictures of the two plants in bloom.
