61207  As we climb up the trail we'll pay our respects to the old mining cabins hidden in the trees.  The camp is called "Swede's Camp."
The cabins have been through lots of "wear & tear" since we first saw them thirty years ago.   We thought we better photograph a couple.

There's not much left of the out buildings.
61207  The neighboring cabin is a little unusual...
The cabin has a brick oven!  Imagine the stampede of hungry miners that started every time they pulled fresh bread from the oven.
R.T. wrote: "The brick oven was part of a steam room for muscle weary miners."  Thank you! R.T. for the update.
Unlike many temporary log shelters, someone took special care building this cabin.
They even added a front "addition" to the cabin.
